Brunswick Street Gallery’s Dialogue exhibition series pairs the practices of two artists, creating a space where their works complement one another and amplify the impact of the exhibition as a whole. United by the inspiration each artist draws from the Australian landscape, particularly its distinctive flora, Anna Walsh’s self-described harmonious blend of traditional techniques and contemporary aesthetics enters into dialogue with Vivienne Adeney’s strong focus on printmaking in The Surface.
‘Bluffs formed by weather and water are captured through woodblock prints and textured paintings. The carving of the woodblock emulates the formation of bluffs balancing between loss of material by carving and wood still intact.
